Coffee Chronicle #6: Social Distancing, More Coffee

We. all of us, are in it for the long haul.

Now in MN, at Big Pine Lake.  There are more cases and deaths due to covid-19 here than where we drove from, Oregon.  How did this happen?

Fishing opener, important event that kicks off summer in MN.  Also, 1/2 inch of snow.  I donned rubber boots and trucked down to the mailbox.  Do not see many boats fishing.  I have been in many snowy fishing openers.

There are other things  going on.  Relationship challenges, betrayals.  Denial.  I am powerless over people, places and things.  I am clear.

Coffee makes me feel warm, secure and loved.  Loved by me.   Below, coffee mix sent by my dear friend and fellow traveler, Tom (we are wondering when we will be able to travel...)

This summer marks 1 year of Centering Prayer with Kathleen's group. There are  about 15 of us "regulars", from Ireland, Colorado, Portugal, Massachusetts, Georgia, California, Kansas, Minnesota   Oregon,  and other places.  The group has become close with a stream of new information for me.  Of the Scripture, Christian Mystics, Thomas Keating and others who do or have done this practice.

I have learned to sit for 20 minutes.   It is a practice.
